Biography
She specializes in technology-related legal matters, with substantial experience providing legal support to companies in the IT and telecommunications sectors, as well as supporting global business operations in collaboration with international teams across Europe and other jurisdictions.
Her practice is primarily focused on data protection, information security law, artificial intelligence law, and commercial contracting in the digital and technology sector. She regularly advises on compliance with major regulatory frameworks, including the GDPR, NIS2, the EU AI Act, and other relevant data protection and cybersecurity regulations. In her work, she drafts and negotiates a wide range of complex commercial agreements, particularly in relation to cloud-based (SaaS) solutions, software licensing, telecommunications infrastructure, the provision of services, and data processing and governance matters. A significant part of her practice is dedicated to the legal aspects of emerging technologies, including cloud computing, 5G and artificial intelligence.
She also has experience advising on employment law, intellectual property, consumer protection, and tax law.
Marija completed both her LL.B. and LL.M. studies at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, where she defended her master’s thesis “Tax position of IT companies in Serbia”, with a special focus on tax optimization. She holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) certification, issued by the IAPP.
